Refineries & Petrochemicals

A refinery filter is judged by the run length it protects.

Refineries and petrochemical units use filtration and purification at many points, and each one guards something larger: a reactor's catalyst inventory, an amine unit's solvent, a product's specification. Gopani engineers the elements and systems for hot, pressurised, continuous duty, sized from your circuit's data rather than a catalogue figure.

Your process

FCC slurry oil and catalyst fines

Fluid catalytic cracking fines recovered from slurry oil and other process streams, at the temperatures and pressures of FCC duty.

Hydroprocessing and reforming catalyst

Hydrocracking catalyst recovery and reforming catalyst filtration, with Ni/Mo, Co/Mo and Pt/Re catalysts.

Amine and tail gas treating

Particulate control on amine sweetening and tail gas treating units, where solids feed foaming and solvent losses.

Product specification

Final filtration that holds fuels, including diesel, and petrochemical products inside their specification and cuts reprocessing.

Utilities

Cooling water, boiler feed, and compressed air, instrument air, nitrogen and hydrogen service.

Can sintered metal handle FCC catalyst duty?

Sintered metal systems are built for the high temperature and pressure of FCC slurry duty, with element alloys selected for the specific refinery environment and vessels coded to ASME Section VIII as required, with IBR approval available. Element alloy, micron rating and backwash design are set in engineering review of your stream.

Do you filter amine and tail gas treating units?

Yes. Particulate control on the amine circuit protects against foaming and solvent losses in amine sweetening and tail gas treating units. We size the stage from your loop's real solids load; see the oil and gas page for the amine and glycol detail.

Which gas services do you cover?

Clarywound GF is available in gas filtration grades for compressed air, instrument air, nitrogen, hydrogen and helium. Specify the gas filtration grade when ordering; the glass fiber structure absorbs little moisture, which suits gas-phase duty.
